Every now and then a book is written that has the potential to impact a generation. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS!
What started online for Ryan Tipton in the quest for Maricel Arcamo’s heart, deepened considerably after he traveled halfway around the world to meet her in the Philippines. After spending one perfect week together, marriage seemed all but certain for the lovestruck couple...
Their relationship quickly crumbled one week later, after Ryan remorsefully confessed to his new girlfriend that he never went back to the States the day she saw him off at the airport with her family. Instead, he remained in the Philippines another week to meet with two other women. With her world completely shattered, Maricel refused to accept Ryan’s phone calls, emails, or text messages.
Desperate for a second chance with her, Tipton sought the counsel of a godly couple he and Maricel had met in Manila. Ernesto and Gloria Angeles—owners of Agape Coffee and Pastry Shoppe—were widely known for helping numerous couples build solid relationships over the years, by using biblical principles to lead the way.
Under their constant tutelage, Tipton returned to the Philippines a few months later a changed man. His goal was to win Maricel Arcamo back at all costs. But after shattering her heart in too many places to count, did she have the courage to forgive him and reconcile the love they once shared?
Or were they already too far gone for a new beginning...
Not only does Coffee in Manila show how true love can happen online (for those who are willing to take the proper steps along the way), it also exposes the countless potential dangers connected to online dating sites—and all other social network platforms—making this a must-read for anyone looking for a life partner on the Internet.
REEDITED APRIL 2018...

The beginning of the book was interesting as the hero of the story was headed for Mania to meet Marceil he met through an on-line dating service. She was absolutely perfect for him and he realized it immediately. However, he already had plans to continue on to another city in the Philippines. Her family treated him like royalty. He began to feel so guilty for what he was about to do; but went ahead with it. Marceil tearfully saw him off at the airport thinking he was headed back to Iowa. But he headed to Daco City instead to meet the next girls. But almost from the beginning the girl definitely wasn't his type; but she came on strong and stayed with him at the hotel. He was repelled by her which really hurt her feelings. The next young lady was as sweet as she could be; but she just wasn't the love of his life. He was miserable because of his actions and finally called the owner of the wonderful Coffee Shop where he and Marceil had gone in Manila. The godly owner who had become his friend urged him to tell Marceil the truth and apologize to her. He did and she wouldn't forgive him for what he had done. She was broken hearted. But he wasn't about to give up because he loved her too much and realized she was the love of his life. Four months later he returned to Manila determined to let her know he was serious. The ending is perfect! There is also a great truth in the book that is quite serious. But it is wonderful read.Product details

Coffee In Manila edition by Patrick Higgins A Concerned American Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Great story. As a happily married North American frequent Philippines visitor, I see the need for Agape Coffee Houses both places. What an easy way to make the world a better place!
I was unsure of the rating that this book deserved. I was heavily leaning toward three stars because the writing is a little stilted. However, love and faith won and I settled on four stars simply because the message is so beautiful. =)
very well written book, this is more on the romance side but it was still a great one to read.
I have now read all the books I can find online by this author and continue to appreciate all of them. I eagerly await the Feb release of the 5 book in the Chaos In The Blink of An Eye series. Be prepared to having a hard time putting any book down before finishing it.
Amazing!! I wish I could give it more stars. What a wonderful story and a perfect opportunity to address a subject so many choose to ignore. Beautifully written. I could go on and on but the best thing you can do is read the book for yourself and feel the love.
As it may not be surprising to many, online dating has been incredibly increasing worldwide. Coffee in Manila (CIM) is a special novel. It is a story of an American in search of a true love and acceptance. The main character in the story joined an online dating and connected with several Filipina women there. After a few months of getting to know each of them online, he went to the Philippines to meet them individually as the story unfolds. CIM is a very nice story of finding true love, but also remorse, betrayal, self-control, forgiveness, respect and integrity among other things. If you are a woman of commendable values, you will surely at first, dislike the main character of the story before you'll discover that he is a man of integrity. It is really a must-read book especially to men and women out there involved in online dating. It exposes the dangers of dating online and the exploitation of women arising today in many countries, including Philippines. Promise If you read the book from the beginning to the end, you will never be the same again. That's the hope. If you are concerned about your fellow Pinays (Filipina women), or one of your family members or friends getting involved in online dating or becoming a victim of sex slave trafficking, this book is for you. If you are a minister of God, this will be a good reference for you if members in your church are involved in online dating. The book offers suggestive approaches for "successful" online dating. Please support the book by spreading word of it out there. Please be concerned and let's make a difference. The least we can do to help them is to circulate awareness and encourage them to read `Coffee in Manila'. If you profess to be a Christian, then be Christ's ambassador! God bless us all!
Since this book was written by a "Christian" it was somewhat unrealistic in it's portrayal of Internet Dating with Filipinas. Having lived in the Philippines and having had the opportunity of knowing a few guys who use the Internet for 'sex travel' I know it's sort of a 'love 'em and leave 'em' practice. There seem to be a few sites that have restrictions but most are clearing houses for dirty ol' men and gold digging Filipinas. What the book does expose is the heartache that can be caused if a sincere girl really believes in
the good intentions of a man she met through an Internet dating site. The poverty and lack of opportunity in the Philippines often clouds the judgment of trusting girls. If things seem too good to be true . . .
